Faribault’s 2017 Flannel Formal
On Saturday, April 8th starting at 5 PM, the historic downtown of Faribault MN was overrun – overrun with flannel. The 2017 Flannel Formal took place town and the people of Faribault are brushing the sawdust off their favorite flannel to participate in this fun, annual event.
Put on by the organizational committee for downtown and hosted by F-Town Brewing Company, this year marked the 2nd Flannel Formal.
Starting the Flannel Formal
The creation of the annual event began as a fundraising opportunity to support Faribault’s historic downtown and the shops that populate it. The idea for the flannel themed event came from a small group of Minnesota students who attend the University of Notre Dame. These students popularized the flannel theme around campus and when the idea was brought up as a possible town event, everyone agreed that flannel was the way to go.
