Craft Distillery Adds to Faribault Offerings

Located in downtown Faribault, 10,000 Drops is a new Craft Distillery dedicated to distilling and aging the highest quality Whiskeys and Rums. It was founded with the goal of crafting the highest quality American spirits, in the spirit of the American craftsman.

The 10,000 Drops distillery became a dream for four friends who grew up together in Minnesota. After high school they went their separate directions, until one fateful day in March of 2014 they met up for drinks and started talking about going into business for themselves. A distillery fit well into their skill sets, and thus 10,000 Drops was born. The hundred year old warehouse has been renovated with great care and attention to detail using many refurbished materials. The space includes the distillery where the product is crafted, as well as a cocktail room that you’ll want to settle into and try a few beverages.

What exactly will 10,000 Drops be distilling? Visitors will be able to choose from several options! The Silver Rum comes from the still to you. This cane sugar and molasses rum is sweet, bright, and the perfect drink for your summer night. Sip it straight, or let them mix it up for you. The spiced rum is made with cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, and much more. Thier spiced rum makes the national brand look like a cabin boy. The barrel aged dark rum is aged in used bourbon barrels, this rum brings you distinct vanilla, coffee, and caramel flavors. Put simply, this ain’t your white sand beach kind of rum. The naked whiskey is a classic corn and wheat whiskey with a sweet, subtle grain flavor. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Though they may recommend adding some cider. The bourbon is barrel aged two years, the 10,000 Drops Two-year is soft and sweet, with light oak and vanilla notes on the back end. The 3 – year bourbon is older and wiser, flavors here will vary with the weather, char, and casking time. No two barrels are alike, so this is where the magic happens!

10,000 Drops will be opening in summer 2018 and with a location right next to a craft brewery, it makes a great day trip, or include a visit to the distillery as part of a weekend getaway!
