Last year, Faribault Main Street hosted the first ever Winterfest celebration and this year, it is even bigger!

Thursday, November 29 will be the annual Window Decorating contest throughout downtown Faribault. Shop owners and employees put their creative juices flow and put together spectacular displays! Back again this year, will be an ice carving! Sakatah Carvers, Signs & Creations will be crafting a sculpture from a block of ice, and you can watch the process!
Additionally, Due North will be caroling, and Santa and his reindeer will be at the Buckham center along with arts and crafts, and live music!
Friday, November 30 is teen night. This event will be held at the Faribault Community Center. This event will be held at the Faribault Community Center. Open gym and swim, in addition to board games and other activities from 6pm-8pm. Cost is $1 and a non-perishable food item, or $3.
Saturday, December 1, don’t miss the Faribault Sno- Go Club’s Vintage Snowmobile show on Central Ave from 1-4pm. Faribault will light up! Faribault will light up! New this year: Fireworks! A fireworks show light up the sky above Central Ave immediately before the Parade of Lights at 5:30pm.
A parade of lights marches through the downtown on Saturday, December 1. Parade lineup is at 4pm, the parade starts at 5:30pm. To register a spot in the parade, call the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism at (507) 334-4381. Faribault will truly be dazzling with lights and excitement that night.
As the parade comes to it’s conclusion, the night is just beginning! A street dance will follow, and people are encouraged to bundle up and boogie the night away from 6:30-10:00pm! Music will fill the streets as people dance and warm up with beverages and heaters spaced around the area. The Faribo Sno-Go Club willing be manning the bar and serving up fun drinks.
Additionally, the Rice County Historical Society will be hosting an Christmas Open House at the Alexander Faribault House and there is a show at the Paradise Center for the Arts. And of course, the shops will be open so folks can cross a few items off of their shopping lists.
Sunday, December 2 don’t miss the Nutcracker Prince at the Paradise Center for the Arts.
