Downtown Faribault turns into a magical snow globe filled with fun December 5-7.

Thursday, December 5 will be the annual Window Decorating contest throughout downtown Faribault. Shop owners and employees put their creative juices flow and put together spectacular displays! Back again this year will be an ice carving! Sakatah Carvers, Signs & Creations will be crafting a sculpture from a block of ice, and you can watch the process!
Additionally, there will be music, and Santa and his reindeer will be at the Buckham center along with arts and crafts!

Friday, December 6 is a great night to take a tour of the Alexander Faribault house from 4-7pm, or go watch “Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Refused to Grow Up” at the Paradise Center for the Arts.

Saturday, December 7, don’t miss the Faribault Sno- Go Club’s Vintage Snowmobile show on Central Ave from 1-4pm. They’ll have food and beverages for sale to warm you  up while you stroll the stellar snowmobiles. A parade of lights marches through the downtown on Saturday, December 7. Parade lineup is at 4 pm, the parade starts at 5:30 pm. To register a spot in the parade, call the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism at (507) 334-4381. Faribault will truly be dazzling with lights and excitement that night.
As the parade comes to its conclusion, the night is just beginning! A street dance will follow, and people are encouraged to bundle up and boogie the night away from 6:30-10:00 pm! Music will fill the streets as people dance and warm up with beverages and heaters spaced around the area. The Faribo Sno-Go Club willing be manning the bar and serving up fun drinks.
Additionally, the Winter Farmers’ Market will take place from 1-4pm at the Paradise Center for the Arts, and “Peter Pan” will have a showing that evening, and of course, the shops will be open so folks can cross a few items off of their shopping lists.
