The opening ceremony takes place in Central Park at 6:30PM on June 14. Score great deals during the city wide garage sales beginning Thursday and lasting through the weekend. The kids, and kids at heart, will love the carnival in Central Park. Thursday night there is free live music in Central Park to kick off the Summer Concerts in the Park series. Friday don’t miss the craft show in the park. Spend Friday checking out great cars and motorcycles along Central Avenue in downtown Faribault before dancing to the sounds of popular band Pop Rocks in the beer gardens.
Discover area histotry Saturday morning at La Compagne, from 9AM-4PM in Central Park, where voyageurs will explain the fur trade. Saturday is a youth fishing contest at the King Mill Dam at 9AM. You won’t want to miss the grand parade at 6PM Saturday evening making its way from the Rice County Fair Grounds to Central Park. Saturday night, the Magic Sunshine Band plays in the beer garden. And, treasure hunters will love piecing together clues for the annual Medallion Hunt during the week!
